New Voices in Japanese Studies (NVJS) is calling for papers and reviews from postgraduate researchers and recent PhD graduates for publication in mid-2019.
NVJS is an open-access peer-reviewed journal for local emerging researchers in the humanities, social sciences and related disciplines whose work focuses on Japan. It is published and fully funded by The Japan Foundation, Sydney (more info here).
Call for Papers
Deadlines for papers are October 15 (Masters/PhD) and November 5 (Honours), 2018. For details, please see the NVJS Call for Papers page.
Call for Book/Article Reviews
Based on feedback, NVJS is trialling book and article reviews from the coming volume. To review for NVJS, students can submit a Review Proposal via an online form or register on our Reviewer Database. Review deadlines will be set in consultation with the authors. Who is eligible to submit?
- Honours students/graduates
- Master (Research) students/graduates
- PhD students/recent PhD graduates
Authors must have a connection to Australia or New Zealand, i.e., be in or from Australia or New Zealand, or have recently presented at selected area studies conferences in Australia (see Eligibility Criteria).
All papers undergo double-blind peer review by at least two experts in the field plus rigorous internal review prior to publication. See our Editorial Process page for further details.
