Kultour is seeking a Sydney-based leader to build and strengthen cultural diversity in the arts nationally.
The Executive Director will lead Kultour’s priority program development in the areas of advocacy and opportunities for the culturally diverse arts sector in 2015 – 2016.
Kultourexists to make a cultural difference in our culturally diverse and complex communities, and carve pathways for culturally and linguistically diverse artists and arts, from cultural policy to cultural and arts practice.
In 2015, Kultour relocates to Western Sydney as its base for the future. Kultour began as an arts touring program of the Australia Council working with a national network of arts organisations touring multicultural arts projects nationally before forming as a company limited by guarantee in Melbourne.
Australian society is constantly changing and developing, our communities increasingly enriched by these changes. Kultour provides a key role in these changes and is determined to overcome obstacles to positive futures for the expression of cultural diversity in the arts.
Are you the person to develop and lead this campaign? You’ll knock on doors, tweet and facebook, annoy politicians, write submissions, seek and secure grants from government, the private sector and through philanthropy.
You’ll know what needs to be done, which doors in the corridors of power to knock on and who to speak to in the media because you are part of the sector and you’re seeking change.
Your cultural heritage will contribute to your deep knowledge of Australia’s culturally and linguistically diverse sector. This is not a desk-bound role – you will be on the move, a leader who can motivate others to join, meeting key influencers and thought leaders face to face and virtually.
You must be social media savvy, politically savvy, ready to act and know how to gain media interest and attention. First and foremost you must know these sectors and already operate at its forefront. We need a leader to build membership, influence government policies and attitudes, create opportunities, inspire and advocate.
