In response to the proposed changes to the Racial Discrimination Act, Blak Dot Gallery (a contemporary Indigenous run arts space based in Brunswick East) is organising a quick response exhibition to be opened Thurs 17th April, and run until the 27th April.
Artwork and written text are sought to be exhibited on the gallery walls. Furthermore, for opening night they are seeking spoken word performers, poets and performers who would like to read/perform in response to the proposed changes to the Racial Discrimination Act.
This has been a very quick response show with confirmation to participate TODAY and final delivery of artworks TOMORROW. Please see below for the Artist Callout and Exhibition Brief, and forward on.
Some of the artists that have already confirmed include Jenny Fraser, Megan Cope, Texta Queen, Deborah Kelly as well as writers and poets who will be responding with text based works to go on the walls.
