Inaugural Director position in new Asia research initiative

The University is now seeking an exceptional, renowned leader in Asian-related research to become the Inaugural Director of the Melbourne Asia Research Network (MARN). The network is a new initiative to facilitate collaborative, interdisciplinary, problem-oriented, Asia-relevant research. MARN will provide a network structure linking the University’s existing relevant Centres and Institutes as well as other Asia-related research activities within the University.
Visionary and inspirational academic leadership of the highest calibre combined with an ability to engage with a broad range of audiences – academic, policy and professional communities in Australia or Asia – will be key to the success of the Network. The Inaugural Director will be a world-leading scholar in a relevant discipline and will have demonstrated the intellectual creativity necessary to collaborate across disciplines while maintaining a high public profile.
