The Institute for Culture and Society (ICS) at the University of Western Sydney is a leading research institute investigating transformations in culture and society in the context of contemporary global change. It is a vibrant and exciting research environment that champions inter-disciplinary, engaged and collaborative research in the Humanities and Social Sciences for a digital age.
The Institute is seeking to fill three Research Fellow positions (Level C or D) in Cultural and Social Research, focusing on areas of the ICS research program. More detailed information of this program can be found on our website, www.uws.edu.au/ics Of particular interest are candidates with expertise in the themes of digital life, cities and economies, and diversity and citizenship.
Applications are sought from candidates with an outstanding research track record (relative to opportunity) to contribute to the ICS’s research and postgraduate training programs. Successful applicants will be pro-active, forward-thinking, and innovative scholars with a strong commitment to engaged, collaborative and interdisciplinary research. They are expected to make significant contributions to the development of the ICS research program through both solo and team-based projects. A broad interest and understanding of the overall intellectual program and mission of the Institute is essential. International experience, in particular in Asia, is desirable.
Eligibility: To apply for these positions you must have completed a PhD qualification in the Humanities, Arts or Social Sciences or a related discipline; and are required to submit a research and scholarly activity plan.
The positions will be based at our Parramatta campus.
The University reserves the right to appoint at Academic Level C or Academic Level D depending upon the skills, qualifications and experience of the successful candidates.
Appointment at Academic Level C (Senior Research Fellow) will be on a full time basis for a fixed term period of five (5) years.
Appointment at Academic Level D (Principal Fellow) will be on a full time, ongoing basis.
