Life’s a Gamble is an exciting theatre piece involving International Students from Melbourne University.

As these young people negotiate their way in their new homes, they are often vulnerable to a range of emotional, financial, academic and acculturation stressors. Combining this with new-found freedom in a foreign land puts International Students at risk of developing gambling related problems.

Director Catherine Simmonds has drawn out the students’ own personal stories to present a surprising collage of the challenges and triumphs in their lives.

The City of Melbourne proudly supports this performance as an initiative to bring together residents and community members of Carlton and international students from the University of Melbourne.
