Join the Asia Education Foundation’s Kathe Kirby and Dr Eeqbal Hassim, with Pam Russell and Lois Peeler as they explore:
- the role and importance of language in developing intercultural understanding
- worldview, window on the world – recognition that understanding of self is foundational to appreciating/understanding of the other
- the Aboriginal concept of ‘walking together’ resonates with notions of the ‘third space’.
This twilight session has been designed to provide both an Indigenous and International (Asian) lens to intercultural understanding. Examples of best practice and both similarities and differences will assist to provide teachers with an understanding of the importance of a framework of intercultural understanding.
