From 15 July onwards

The Mid-Autumn Festival is an important harvest festival celebrated by the Chinese. Held on the 15th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar, it is a celebration that has two fundamental principles; gathering and thanksgiving.

This year, the Chinese Museum presents Lighting up Multiculturalism, an exhibition exploring the ways in which multicultural Australia celebrates the Mid-Autumn Festival. Visitors will be able to read the stories, celebrate the culture and contribute towards the creation of a poem wall.

The Chinese Museum is seeking exhibition proposals for 2014. For more information, contact Emily Cheah –
